Cabinet ministers inspect projects in lower north

Cabinet ministers yesterday continued a tour of the Lower North Region 2 to follow up on the implementation of state projects with the Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs emphasizing efforts being taken against loan sharks, mafia operations and narcotics.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Gen Prawit Wongsuwan led a team to Payuhakiri Police Station in Nakhon Sawan province to hear a briefing on its work. He reminded officers of the policy of orderliness, service to the public and dependability for citizens. He asked that the station broaden its public service points, remarking that access to police is an aspect of social equality, while also asking officers to step up efforts against lingering issues of influential groups, violence and the illegal narcotics trade.

Deputy Prime Minister ACM Prajin Junthong visited Uthai Thani province, and inspected a Pracharat Internet terminal in Nern Chaeng sub-district. He was briefed that Uthai Thani has had 237 Pracharat Internet terminals installed across all of its districts and is one of the first 10 provinces of the north to see Pracharat Internet up and running, providing residents with full access to digital technology.

Minister of Labor Pol Gen Adul Saengsinghakaew was also in Nakhon Sawan at Labor Development Insitute 8. He inspected the training of soldiers and police and a program for enhancing low-income earners registered with the welfare program. The institute offers a variety of training to improve the skills and incomes of residents.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

 The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities. Speaking to the press, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan asserted that the Kingdom has achieved a certain level of reconciliation. He assured reporters that all political activities will eventually be unlocked, and dates will be set for meetings with political parties ahead of the general election.
