The government's focus on its Thailand 4.0 agenda continues to emphasize the incorporation of technology and innovation in public administration. Government officials must also adapt to these technological upgrades, in order to provide the public with fast and convenient service, according to the Prime Minister’s Office Minister.
As Thailand transitions to digital technologies, public administrative systems and services continue to suffer from bureaucratic delays, a lack of interagency connectivity, and ineffective public services. These problems have been blamed on a shortage of personnel knowledgeable in communications technology.
The Electronic Government Agency (EGA) has therefore held a meeting to receive feedback on the Digital Government bill, incorporating public participation in the lawmaking process.
Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Dr. Kobsak Pootrakool said today that the government has prioritized the incorporation of innovation in public administration, streamlining bureaucratic procedures, and becoming a truly digital government in keeping with the Thailand 4.0 agenda.
The effort begins with ensuring that government personnel accept the benefits of digital systems and are able to adapt to changing technologies. Meanwhile, state agencies must make progress in integrating moves to enhance connectivity.
