The National Legislative Assembly has received a Chinese delegation on an official visit to Thailand to discuss economic cooperation.
Gen. Singsuk Singprai, chairman of the NLA committee on commerce, industry and labor, on Wednesday welcomed Mr. Shang Fulin, the chairman of the economic committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), who visited Thailand to discuss various economic issues.
? Topics tabled for discussion during the meeting included the improvement of trade and investment cooperation, particularly Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor project.
Gen. Singsuk and Mr. Shang agreed that Thailand and China are important trading partners to each other, with close relations in many areas, ranging from trade to tourism and industrial collaboration.
The meeting also delved into a discussion on the planned construction of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail system between Bangkok and Kunming, which is expected to begin soon and will greatly benefit transportation and trade between the two countries.
