NRSA puts forward six categories of national reforms

National reform panels pledged to put forward six areas of national reforms in Future Thailand event held today at Central World shopping center.

National Reform Steering Assembly Chairman Kobsak Pootrakool presided over the opening ceremony for Future Thailand promoting national reforms.

He said the reform bodies are working to prioritize national reform in six categories to progress within 8 months, with focuses on social issues and livelihood of the general public.

The assembly is now aimed to solve poverty through the increase of income, with tailored campaigns according to the needs of people from different groups, such as farmers who will be trained to implement technology to improve their yield and produce quality, as well as long-term plans addressing the irrigation system and land rights issues in place.

The issue of social inequalities will be addressed within each sector such as the justice system, the education system, social issues, public health, and the economy, focusing on the reduction of economic monopolies and extending the social security system, promoting savings, and reforming the taxation scheme.

The authorities will eradicate corruptions from the society through preventive and suppressive measures, promoting public participation and digital technologies to prevent corruption, providing a more efficient complaints receiving system, and enacting legal measures combating corruptions in the government sector.

Given the reforms, the general public will be provided with better participation in administration, starting with the improvement of schools, local assemblies, providing a fair election system, and allowing for good governance evaluations of government agencies. The reform will also rethink political cultures of the country, promoting transparency, encouraging politicians to declare their ideology to the public, and redefine public assembly rules.

Official protocols will also be streamlined to better serve the general public and promoting decentralization of administrative powers, gathering Big Data for the government’s legal works, updating outdated laws using regulatory guillotine, and promoting digital transformation of the government.

The reform will also take into consideration the future of Thailand’s energy, mass media, security, environment, and human resources, with short-term projects in place promoting solar roofs, reducing trade obstructions to become trading hub of Indochina, and promoting infrastructure investment for electric vehicles.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

 The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities.
