The construction of Phatthanakan-Ramkhamhaeng-Thawon Thawat underpass is now on track, with an official opening expected later this year.
The Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Jakkapan Phiewngam, today visited the construction site the underpass to follow up its construction progress. The project has been delayed from the initial end of construction contract in April due to problems in the removal of utilities in the construction area.
He has instructed contractors to speed up the process and complete the construction of the tunnel by October, and the traffic surface by December.
The 1,250-meter long and 4-lane underpass will help solve traffic congestion on Phatthanakan, Ramkhamhaeng, Srinagarindra roads and other roads in nearby areas.
