Thailand’s Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi has cooperated with universities in Finland to launch the Smart Teacher Training Academy, with the aim of raising the quality of educational personnel.
Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi organized the opening ceremony of the Smart Teacher Training Academy, which has been set up under the institute’s collaboration with Finland University and the University of Tampere. The new academy seeks to develop the skills of instructors and enhance curricula through the promotion of STEM education, design thinking and the CDIO, which stands for conceive, design, implement and operate, approach to engineering education.
Assoc Prof Dr Prasert Pinprathomrat, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, revealed that, while working with Finland over the past four years to develop the university’s curricula, both teachers and students had th opportunity to conduct research together, creating an effective learning environment. This approach will be introduced to other institutes in the Rajamangala and Rajabhat university networks nationwide.
Dr Aurasa Pavavimol, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the Higher Education Commission, expressed her belief that the Smart Teacher Training Academy will help uplift the standard of teaching professionals in Thailand while giving them an understanding of global technological changes. As a result, they will be able to pass on their knowledge to students in a more efficient manner.
