The Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) has opened workshops to keep tapioca farmers and buyers connected with one another and promote marketing opportunities.
DFT Director-General Adul Chotinisakorn said the agency has held the workshops on the connection of tapioca buyers and farmers, allowing them to discuss ways to develop the tapioca industry as well as improve the quality of products to meet demands in the domestic and export markets.
The DFT has already held three workshops, including one in Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachin Buri, and Ubon Ratchathani each.
Thailand was the world's top tapioca exporter in 2017, with 11 million tons of products worth 27 billion US dollars exported.
