Representatives from the Department of Science Services have visited OTOP business owners in Amnat Charoen province and collected their feedback on approaches to improve their operations through technology.
The group consisted of Director of the Bureau of Community Technology Chaiwat Thaneerat, Director of the Division of Chemicals and Consumer Products Neeranat Changthong, a team of scientists.
The feedback was collected from local entrepreneurs and business operators. Amnat Charoen is among the ten provinces with the most number of people living in destitute. The government is keen to improve the quality of their OTOP offerings.
The department is implementing the government’s policy to use science, technology and innovation to strengthen local businesses and OTOP products. The campaign is a joint effort between the Department of Science Services and Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. The two agencies worked side by side to improve the quality of OTOP items and empower the grassroots economy and local community. The campaign also provides opportunities to creative minds to expand their ideas and use them to add values to their products.
The initiative also aims at developing business operations and add values of OTOP products of all 1,950 campaign members by implementing science and technology, in line with the state policy.
