The Election Commission is ready to organize local and provincial elections although some issues must first be addressed.
Election commissioner Prawit Ratanapian, chaired the official opening on Saturday of a training program for citizens run by the teachers and students of Joseph Upatham School in Nakhon Pathom province.
Mr. Prawit said that the training is designed to promote public participation in local and provincial elections as well as the general election, which is expected in early 2019.
He said that such guidance is needed because rules and regulations are different now.
Mr. Prawit added that the EC is ready to organize any election despite the fact that all the commissioners are only performing an interim job.
He went on to say that the acting EC has full authority to plan all steps to organize any poll as mandated by the National Council for Peace and Order.
