A fire has razed a stage at the Ayuthaya Floating Market in Ayutthaya province. There was no injury or loss of life in the incident.
Five fire trucks were rushed to the scene. The firefighters and stall owners spent around 30 minutes dousing the fire that had destroyed the market's stage. Mr Amarin Pengsalung, the market's security guard said a bang was heard from the performance area before the fire broke out. The blaze quickly spread across the floating stage as it was built from wood.
Forensic officials are examining the evidence to identify the cause of the incident. They suspect an electrical short circuit might have caused the fire. The damage is estimated to exceed one million baht.
