Fishing restrictions imposed over Bangkok Bay

The Department of Fisheries has imposed restrictions on fishing over the Bay of Bangkok at this time of the year.

Every year during June and July, the Bay of Bangkok is home to many migrating marine animals, and the restrictions will help minimize the impact of fishing activities while promoting sustainability of marine resources.

The Assistant to the Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister, Niwat Sutheemeechaikul, said fishing vessels are prohibited from using certain fishing equipment during the breeding season, from now until this September.

According to the Department of Fisheries, its measures carried out in the previous years had proven to help improve the sea environment, as reflected from the increasing number of marine animals.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities.
