Ko Samui police have arrested a 24-year old woman who allegedly ran an illegal orthodontic clinic on the island.
Sasipond Robru was arrested at a commercial building in Mae Num sub-district where she offered an orthodontic service without a license. Police also found various kinds of dental instruments at her clinic during the raid.
Saipond told the police she opened the clinic about a month ago. All medical and dental tools were purchased at medical supply stores. She also claimed to have learnt about orthodontics from a dental clinic she used to work for before leaving the job to open her own.
Saipond attracted her customers, who were mostly teenage girls, through Facebook. She offered orthodontic treatments at prices between 300-800 baht.
