A public park in Mahakan Fort Community re-opens today after a major facelift.
The renovation of Mahakan Fort park was part of the 69 million baht landscape project overseen by the Department of Public Works of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The floor of the park has been raised by 50 centimeters for the installation of underground plumbing, electrical systems and lighting.
The Department of Public Works is also planning to put up a sign to educate visitors about the history of Mahakan Fort.
While the landscape project is still ongoing in the other areas, people are allowed to visit the park. Officials from Phra Nakhon District Office will be deployed in the evening to ensure safety for tourists.
