The National Legislative Assembly has voted to accept the draft fiscal 2019 budget expenditure bill for deliberation.
At its sitting on Thursday, members of the NLA considered the draft fiscal 2019 budget expenditure law, and Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha spent over an hour explaining the details and the merits of the law.
NLA members have expressed support for the draft bill while some suggested changes to improve it.
After the deliberation, ministers from all ministries took turns to explain the rationale behind the budget and its allocations before thanking NLA members for their recognition of the importance of this law.
Then, the NLA held a voting session before the vote count showed 197 members were in favor of the draft while three abstained. Accordingly, the assembly decided to set up a 50-member special committee to work on the draft within 90 days.
