The Ministry of Transport discussed with firms registered in the capital market to find ways and means to establish a special organization in charge of regulating High Speed Rail projects.
Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) Director-General Chaiwat Tongkamkoon said the agency held a meeting chaired by Deputy Minister of Transport Pailin Chuchottaworn on the establishment of such organization to regulate the High Speed Rail projects.
The meeting agreed to the establishment of the special organization to supervise the projects and perform as an independent agency. Three firms have so far offered to help with the establishment of such organization, but the authorities have yet to select one as an official partner.
