The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is scheduled to hold the Amazing Thai Taste Festival next week, bringing together famous Thai dishes from every corner of the country.
On the theme “Eat Thai Food, Feeling Good”, the Amazing Thai Taste Festival will gather 134 well-known restaurants from all five regions of the country in one place, with a wide range of dishes available for visitors to enjoy. Among the must-try items will be the world’s first Khao Tom Mat or sweet sticky rice with durian lava filling and Ubon fragrant rice which sells for as much as 300,000 baht per ton.
Ms Sujitra Jongchansitto, TAT Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business, pointed out that the TAT is collaborating with 37 network agencies and the Property Management Office of Chulalongkorn University to organize the event at Siam Square from June 8-10, from noon to 8 pm daily.
The TAT Deputy Governor elaborated that the Amazing Thai Taste Festival is aimed at stimulating Thai gastronomic tourism and expanding the reputation of Thai cuisine to more international tourists. The three-day event is expected to attract at least 80,000 visitors, generating over 40 million baht in cash flow.
