Authorities have searched the house of a 69-year-old woman in response to complaints about animal abuse from her neighbors and animal rights activists.
The woman, Ms Sangrawee Kanjairungrote was found to own more than 30 dogs. The veterinarian said the canines had louse bites but were generally healthy. The inspection of the premises took about an hour.
Police haven't pressed any charges of animal abuse against Ms Sangrawee but told her to improve the hygienic condition of her house and lessen the number of pets within a week, as she has violated the public health act.
Dindaeng District Office will file a complaint to police and will proceed with a plan to relocate the dogs, if Ms Sangrawee fails to comply with the warning. Authorities will also consider whether having so many pet dogs at her home has posed a health risk to others.
