Army chief on morale boosting trip to Far South

The chief of the Royal Thai Army has traveled to three southern border provinces to offer moral support to officers on duty in the region.

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, Gen. Chalermchai Sitthisart traveled to the southern border region on the long weekend and visited the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 in Pattani to discuss the current situation in the area.

Then, Gen. Chalermchai traveled to Sai Buri District to visit the operational base of the village security volunteers and witness the strategic exercises, before traveling to Narathiwat and Yala to meet with many teams of local volunteers.

The army chief urged security officers in the area to constantly review practices and strategies with volunteers, in order to ensure all are able to perform their duties as trained officers and to achieve full effectiveness in all operations when needed.

Gen. Chalermchai said that he was very satisfied with his weekend visit to the southern border region where he saw how much officers and local people have prepared themselves to carry out security tasks there.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

 The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities.
