Commerce Min finding ways to improve Village and Urban Community Fund

The Ministry of Commerce is determined to increase the efficiency of the National Village and Urban Community Fund to help social welfare cardholders live a more comfortable live.

Commerce Minister Sonthirat Sonthijirawong led a team of ministry officials to Lampang province to seek cooperation from local authorities in the improvement of the National Village and Urban Community Fund management.

The fund is designed to boost the grassroots economy and help members of the social welfare card scheme cut living expenses.

After his discussions with the local government, Minister Sonthirat visited a ‘Blue Flat’ shop in Muang Lampang district. The shop uses the “Thoong Ngern Pracharat” application, a mobile app that allows customers to pay with their welfare cards.

In Lampang province, there are 200,000 low-income earners eligible for the welfare card program. 499 stores participating in the program have already installed electronic data capture (EDC) machines while 33 more stores will soon have them installed.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

 The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities.
