The Department of Social Development and Welfare (DSDW) recently organized several activities for the Thailand Social Expo 2018, which concluded over the weekend.
DSDW Director-General Napa Setthakorn said today the department arranged a booth to issue identification cards to street performers and set up a space for them to perform.
The department also set up a secondhand shop, a Krungthai Bank booth to demonstrate how to donate money to those suffering from social difficulties through its system, and an optometrist's corner that offered free optical examinations.
She also talked about another highlight of her department's contribution; an exhibition on local cultures and tribal identities. Director-General Napa also showcased a departmental project to promote cultural heritage through tourism in Uthai Thani, Tak, Lamphun, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
The Director-General said the 3-day exposition was visited by a large number of event-goers.
