The government is expanding its policy to promote modern farming practices, in order to foster self sufficiency and sustainability across the agricultural sector.
The Office of the Prime Minister has held a seminar attended by representatives of government agencies, civic groups, the private sector, farmers, youths, and university lecturers. It aimed to identify target areas suited to the introduction of modern farming practices and to design methods of implementation that involve cooperation between government agencies and local farmers.
Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Kobsak Pootrakool said today the government wishes to reform the agricultural sector to support economic development in rural areas, reduce inequality, promote self-reliance among farmers, and achieve its goal of becoming a developed country within the next 20 years.
