Govt units sign agreements on human trafficking cases

The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has signed MOUs with other government units on human trafficking.

Minister of Social Development and Human Security Anantaporn Kanchanarat, presided over a ceremony on Sunday to sign the MoUs with 10 government units including the Royal Thai Police, Department of Special Investigation and Office of the Attorney-General. One of the MOUs seeks to develop a database of human trafficking cases. The database is expected to enhance the efficiency of the work to assist and rehabilitate people affected by human trafficking in a fast and fair manner.

The other MOU was signed by five units including the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Office of the Court of Justice and Legal Execution Department. The objective of this MOU is to help people affected by human trafficking, by enabling them to receive fast and fair compensation in accordance with the verdict.

The minister said the collaboration focuses on the use of technology to support solutions to human trafficking problems and prevent human trafficking offenses.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

 The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities.
