The Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) reported that China's tech firm Huawei plans to spend an additional 700 million baht on a cloud service to enhance Thailand's internet network and digital infrastructure.
The BOI Deputy Secretary-General, Narit Therdsteerasukdi, said on Tuesday (Aug 14th) that the subcommittee for considering projects has approved an investment promotion for Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to operate the cloud service with a total budget of 700 million baht.
The enterprises are located in Bangkok and Amata Data Center Park in Chonburi province. The service will be provided to Thai government agencies, Thai and foreign private sectors, and the general public.
Huawei Cloud Service Project will be one of the digital infrastructures of Thailand and a tool to enhance the efficiency of public and private sectors. It also allows people to access government electronic services more conveniently.
