PM Prayut invites public to buy jasmine flowers on National Mother's Day

The Secretary-General of the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand (NCSWT), Penpuck Srithong, met with the Prime Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, to promote activities on the National Mother's Day.

Mrs. Penpuck, as the Chairwoman of the Jasmine Production and Distribution Section, had a meeting with Gen. Prayut at Government House in Bangkok on Tuesday (Aug 7th) to promote the sales of jasmine flower pins. She later attached a jasmine flower pin to his shirt.

Gen. Prayut said he would like to invite everyone to support jasmine products and promote charitable activities in accordance with the NCSWT's intention.

Jasmine is the symbol of the National Mother's Day, which coincides with Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's birthday on August 12th. Fresh jasmine blossoms, handcrafted garlands, or fabric and synthetic blossoms are a popular gift on this occasion, as it is regarded as a symbol of purity, gentleness, and motherhood in Thailand.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

 The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities.
