Prime Minister Prayut promotes sales of royally designed tote bags

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has promoted the sales of royally designed tote bags to help reduce waste and jasmine flowers for the Mother's Day.

At Government House, the premier joined the promotional activity with the sales of the royally designed tote bags by 904 Volunteers retail shop arranged by the Office of the Permanent-Sectrtary, the Prime Minister's Office, as well as the promotion of the sales of jasmine flowers for the Mother's Day on 12 August 2018.

He viewed a mock exhibition of the National Science and Technology Fair 2018 and tried out the C Space software for education which allows learners to be immersed in 3D models, and observed innovation and research works of government agencies and other institutes, such as the innovation on waste water treatment tanks, and ordered a review on a hefty ambulance model.

The National Science and Technology Fair 2018 will be held during 9-13 August 2018 at Centara Grand at Central World Hotel in Bangkok, featuring achievements in science and innovation.

NLA’s vice president denies claims of legislative support for government

A vice president of the National Legislative Assembly has denied claims that the legislature has been trying to help members of the current government in the next election. Thais attend events to celebrate Royal Birthday

Thais from all walks of life have attended events celebrating the 86th birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of the Ninth Reign. Residents of Wiang sub-district of the capital district of Phayao province gave alms to 87 monks at Wat Si Khom Kham, marking the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday. In Uthai Thani province, residents gathered to give offerings to monks in the early hours of August 12th. Donning blue, the color of Her Majesty’s birthday, a number of residents also made merit in dedication to Her Majesty the Queen by releasing fish into the Sakae Krang river basin. Similarly in Chaiyaphum Province, residents took part in an almsgiving ceremony for 87 monks and novices. Commerce Min sees bright outlook for Hom Mali exports

The Ministry of Commerce is confident that Hom Mali rice exports will continue to expand, especially in the United States, which is Thailand’s largest export market for Hom Mali rice. Deputy Commerce Minister Chutima Bunyapraphasara said last week that during the first six months of 2018, Thailand exported more than 220,000 tons of Hom Mali rice, worth 250 million US dollars, to the United States. The volume represents an increase of 2.8 percent over the same period of last year. Chutima led a trade mission, comprising members of the public and private sectors to the United States, from 22nd to 26th July 2018. The visit was undertaken to publicize Thai rice and boost trade cooperation with US rice importers. With information collected about the Thai-US rice market, the trade mission soon foresaw more opportunities for Thai rice exports to the United States.
