Satun opens rubber factory to boost agro incomes

The southern province of Satun has opened a new rubber factory to boost the incomes of local agriculturists.

Vice Governor of Satun Jaruwat Kliangklao presided over the factory’s inauguration ceremony in Khuan Kalong district. The factory produces rubber in lumps for sale domestically and overseas to support the rubber processing industry of members of Satun’s Community Rubber Fund Cooperative.

The government has approved a budget of 30 million for the construction of the factory and procurement of machinery. The project is expected to improve the livelihoods of local people.

The southern province earlier opened a factory producing goods derived from latex such as pillows, floor tiles and futsal flooring. Its steady growth has led to the development of a new product line, including furniture and home decorations.

ACMECS leaders to implement master plan for 5-year development cooperation

The leaders of countries participating in the Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, vowed to implement a five-year master plan for regional development, before the official opening ceremony this morning. DPM Prawit:Govt yet to set dates for political party meetings

The Deputy Prime Minister for Security Affairs has insisted it is not yet time for the government to set clear dates for meetings with political parties or to lift the ban on political activities.
